Travel Journal

Although I was pretty tired from the trip (making sure kids were safe and had enough to eat in a foreign land haha), I worked on the travel journal which the kids were supposed to have done in Penang. I always have a travel journal for each overseas trip so that we have a scrapbook memory of what we have seen and done, other than the photos such as brochures, ticket stubs, etc. :)

TIRED OUT

Yesterday, I had to make 2 presentations to the Dean and it was really pressurising and stressful for me. I wanted to make sure I make a good presentation because I still feel accountable to my former PI even though the project has ended. I also wanted to make sure I make a good presentation because I am making the presentation to the Dean!
However, in the end, we only had time for one presentation as I was questioned several times throughout the presentation. The second presentation would be postponed to a later date but soon. Argh, prolonged stress. :(
I was so exhausted and tired out by the whole experience that I slept immediately after dinner from 7+pm till 2am.

Zonked Out

Updated 5 November 2010, 1:15am
I only just woke up! I was that exhausted. :(

I am totally zonked out today. As I was waiting for my bus home, I totally spaced out and missed it! In the end, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes for the next bus. :( All that waiting made me even more zonked out. I got home close to 7.30pm and I am going to sleep now. zzzzZZZZZZZ

Good Friday

= Sleep-in Friday.

I don't know if it is the side effect of the H1N1 jab I took yesterday but I felt really tired the entire day. I didn't have energy to do anything else but sleep. I was almost afraid that I was coming down with something. Thank goodness by nightfall, I was most energetic again. :P

Christmas Eve

We basically stayed at home. Didn't go out for dinner unlike last year. I am always the one who made suggestions where to go for Christmas Eve dinner, New Year's Eve dinner, etc. I decided to take a break this year, as it is tiring always being the one deciding where to go for meals and such. I thought the girls' father might look into it. How wrong I was. He just couldn't be bothered... :(

Last Minute Rush II

After we had an early lunch at The Soup Spoon at Paragon, I had to run one more errand. I needed to get a travel journal from Muji. So far, I found Muji has the best travel journal. Well, technically, it is not really a travel journal but a F4 sketch book. What I love about the sketch book is that it comes with ribbons so that it can be tied together to prevent stuff from dropping out. :) I have been documenting our travels in such travel journals. I hope for the girls to have a different kind of visual memory other than the photos.

After that, my mother and I went for a hair cut. Juliane accompanied us. We told her it would be boring but she didn't listen lol. Well, she was pretty bored waiting for us but she didn't misbehave. Instead she chose to amuse herself by making faces in the mirror and laughing at herself, and pretending to cut my hair while I was waiting for my hair-dresser.

I guess all the last minute rush over the weekend has taken its toll on me. I took two naps, one in the afternoon after my hair-cut and one after dinner, lol. Feeling pretty refreshed after my naps. Now to review what I have written for my Chapter 4. :P

Busy, Busy, Busy

I had a really long day.

I was at a school workshop from 9 to 3:30pm. I was one of the facilitators for the workshop but didn't really have to do too much. :) After the workshop, I rushed back to office. I had to apply for leave for my coming trip to Australia, return a book, and settle some other admin work.

I went for a seminar at 5pm which lasted an hour and a half. It was really insightful. I enjoyed the seminar. Have quite a few things to consider after that seminar. Will take my time off in Australia to do that, lol.

Came home after dinner, close to 9pm. Forgot that I had my Aunt and Uncle over from Sarawak for a visit. The place was crowded but lively. :) Did some activitist work: sending out circulars to my estate against enbloc. Argh! I hate enbloc!

After doing all that, it was close to midnight and I realised that I haven't pack my luggage yet! Sigh. I am really tired. Had a LONG day. I will do my packing tomorrow. :P

Exhausted!

I have been working on some videos since Wednesday, helping to code them for another colleague to get inter-rater reliability. As it was the first time I have seen the videos, each 1 hr video has taken me at least 1.5 hours to code, sometimes having to play back to re-look. It is mentally exhausting as well as slow going. :( I would love to work faster than that.

The best time I found to code them was really, really late at night when my girls were asleep because then they couldn't ask me questions about the videos, lol. Such as last night, or rather early this morning, I coded 2 videos between 12:30am to 3:15am. This morning, I managed to code another video while the girls were in pre-school. However, I had to leave for office before they returned home. I got to code 1 more video at work before it got too distracting with the various phones ringing and such. I took off again to find another place to work. Finally, I ended up at Starbucks, lol. Surprisingly, it was rather quiet. I coded a 5th video. :) I was really pleased with myself and left for home. The coding really knocked me out mentally. I fell asleep for more than two hours, only to wake up at 8pm. Now I have energy to work through tonight again for the last 5 vidoes, lol.

PS. I am lucky that I have a boss who is very understanding and doesn't mind where I work. She even said I could work at the beach as long as I could get my work done. Shall try that one day, hahaha. :P

Pooped!

I am SO POOPED today!

I had a whole day of workshop for the teachers in my project, from 9:30 to 4:30 pm. The teachers had a fruitful day (I would like to think so!), completing what they were supposed to within today's workshop. Everything was a breeze, chicken feet, child's play, duck soup, picnic, piece of cake, no sweat, small potatoes, ... (need I say more)... or so I thought until I got home. I hadn't realised I was so mentally and physically wound up for the workshop. I was totally exhausted, spent, beat, whacked, drained, sapped, knocked out, taxed, zonked, ...(get the picture??!!??)... I can't even remember if I had dinner before I dropped dead to the world in my bed. Those of you who know me, would know that I love eating, to have missed my dinner, meant I was that TIRED! Of course, receiving a certain letter about the possibility of enbloc did NOTHING to elevate my weary spirits.

What means this heaviness that hangs upon me?
This lethargy that creeps through all my senses?
Nature, oppress'd and harrass'd out with care,
Sinks down to rest.
Author: Joseph Addison Source: Cato (act V, sc. 1)
And rested I did for 3.5 hours. I feel energised, refreshed, revived, ...
Now I have another problem. I am WIDE AWAKE!
