I was really stressed in the day plus the library somehow brought on my allergic reaction, my nose started getting stuffy. Going to get some rest tomorrow.

That Stressful Time Again!

It is that stressful time of the year again. Starting from tomorrow, the girls will be having their exams. Why am I always the more anxious one about the girls' exams than they are?!
Good Luck, Marieann and Juliane.

Aren't You Stressed?

Today, a colleague asked me that, "Aren't you stressed?"
"Stress? What stress?", I asked.
"The kids' exams!", said my colleague.
"Oh! (Laughing) No because my kids' exams are over!", said I.
From our conversation and with my other colleagues, I realised my girls' school started their exams earlier than most schools. One reason could be the girls' school is a full school (both primary and secondary schools in the same site) and the school wants the primary school students out of the school before the O level exams start in early November because their school holiday starts on 10 November, earlier than the other primary schools. :)

Last Exam

Marieann has her last exam today. It is her Science exam. Although she is really interested in Science, I worry because she can be really careless. Sigh.
Her exams are finally over. Now for a different kind of stress - waiting to know her exam results. I am not hoping for great marks, just that she passes her exams.

Exam Stress (or Unstress)

It depends on who is taking it (or not). I am stressing out for my child's exams when I am not the one taking the exams. On the other hand, my child is not stressed at all for her exams when she is the one taking the exams. I really don't know what she is thinking. Sigh. Her exams starts today. I hope she will take her exams seriously.

TIRED OUT

Yesterday, I had to make 2 presentations to the Dean and it was really pressurising and stressful for me. I wanted to make sure I make a good presentation because I still feel accountable to my former PI even though the project has ended. I also wanted to make sure I make a good presentation because I am making the presentation to the Dean!
However, in the end, we only had time for one presentation as I was questioned several times throughout the presentation. The second presentation would be postponed to a later date but soon. Argh, prolonged stress. :(
I was so exhausted and tired out by the whole experience that I slept immediately after dinner from 7+pm till 2am.

"Stressful" Times

Marieann is having her examinations this Wednesday till Friday and another paper in a week's time.

Somehow, Marieann hasn't learnt to be anxious about tests and examinations yet. Not sure if it is a bad thing or a good thing. Bad because she isn't doing much to prepare for her examinations. Good because she isn't bothered by her examinations and she is going through her life as usual, watching tv, playing with her sister, do the necessary homework, ... NOT like her parents who are totally stressed out by her examinations.

Exams are OVER!

Today is the last examination for Marieann! :)
Her examinations actually started just when I went to Denver. :( When in Denver, I called home almost daily reminding her to revise her work and to do her homework until the point when she heard it was me on the phone, she would say "I have nothing to say" and then run off. Sigh. Concerned for her and this is what I get in return. :( Ok, maybe she was getting stressed out by me more than her exams. :P

Crunch Time

It's crunch time.
We are in the midst of preparing a presentation for some people in MOE tomorrow. Have to go through everything to make sure all is in order.

Kiasu

Marieann's exams are finally over. I can finally relax too (for now).

When I saw the marks on Marieann's Term 3 work, the kiaus demon in me took over. I am ashamed to admit this but I became one of those kiasu parents. Sigh. I have to do something about this kiasu-ness of mine.

NB: Kiasu - a term in Hokkien, a Chinese dialect, meaning "afraid of losing".

Stress, stress, stress!

It is the night before my parents' workshop tomorrow. I am stressed!

This topic that I am presenting is rather new and ever growing and expanding but in a way, it is exciting. I am stressed mainly because I haven't had time to run through my slides as it has been a busy week at work. I need to run through my 84 slides and make sure I can keep within the time of 2.5 hours lol. I either have to go real fast or touch and go for certain slides. Maybe I will do that lor. :P I think I am more stressed about trying to remember my notes for the slides than the actual presenting. I only get nervous right at the start, just before the presentation. Once I start, I am okay. :)

Wish me luck. :)

I Need A Break

I need a break.

I have been stressed by the coming EOGM at my estate regarding the enbloc. I am AGAINST selling my home. It is priceless. It is my safe haven. It is my place of security and happiness. It is a place where memories are made and treasured. I love my home.

I really need a break. Going out of the country is out of the question as I can only leave my current project after 28 November and my new project starts on 3 December. I can only stay put in the country. :(

Hmm, maybe I might just go for one of those weekend hotel packages offered by Singapore hotels. What do you all think? Any good recommendations? Pray tell.
