Christmas "Spring" Cleaning
I took the opportunity on Christmas Day to do "spring" cleaning of my room in the afternoon and night. I managed to clear out a huge bag of papers and cleared some shelf space for my books. Maybe I should look into tidying up my book cupboard too and donate the books that I no longer read. Perhaps tomorrow?

Merry Christmas 2013
Merry Christmas!
For us, it is a quiet Christmas. Actually, it is more of a Practical Christmas. While most people were still resting from the Christmas parties/ gatherings on Christmas eve or were still out celebrating Christmas today in churches or with more parties/ gatherings. We went for our haircut! Some of the hair salons are open on Christmas Day like ours is, but there are very, very few customers. So our waiting time is reduced significantly. Normally, the haircut for the three of us would take us about 3 hours. Today, it only took about 1.5 hrs for three of us to get a haircut! :) I also realised now is the best time for our haircut, not just for the kids in preparation for school re-open in a week's time, but also in preparation for Chinese New Year. :) Chinese New Year 2014 will fall on 31 January 2014. Yes, I think ahead lol. :P

Christmas Day Staycation
MERRY CHRISTMAS 2012! :)
My girls and I went for our Christmas Day staycation at Swissotel The Stamford. We arrived just after 12pm and were promptly checked-in and given our Grand Room on the 52nd floor! :)
The girls were really excited to be so high up from the ground. Actually, Juliane was more like freaking out because of the height and kept asking me to change to a room on a lower floor haha. The Grand Room (50m2) was nice and spacious for the three of us. The views from our room were spectacular (there were two balconies).
After having explored our room and done taking all the photos, we left for lunch at 1pm. We were spoilt for choice as Raffles City is the attached shopping mall with lots of eateries. We went to Xi Men Ding (Taiwanese cuisine) as the girls couldn't decide what to eat.
After lunch at 2.30pm, we walked around Raffles City and spent most of our time in Paper Market, NBC bookshop, Precious Thots, and Marks and Spencer. We returned to our room at 4.30pm.
As the sky looked cloudy and cool earlier in the day, I told them they couldn't swim. But the girls were lucky. The sun came out in the late afternoon and I brought them down to the swimming pool on the 8th floor. They swam for close to an hour before we went back to our room at 6pm.
After we watched our Korean drama, Ice Adonis (7-8pm, yes we are Korean drama addicts lol), we went for dinner at Out of the Pan, Raffles City. We shared a Grilled Honey Soy Chicken crepe ($15.50), Traditional Roasted Turkey Breast crepe ($19++), Fresh Berries Waffles with custard cream, berries and vanilla ice cream ($14), and Old Style Rum and Raisin sweet crepe with caramelised apples and rum & raisin ice cream ($14).
After dinner, we went back to NBC bookshop. The girls just love the shop. We returned to our spacious and cosy room close to 9.30pm. We watched Discovery channel for the rest of the night! Lol. The girls couldn't sleep. They were like "Princess and the Pea"!
They complained that the bed was so different. They turned and tossed in bed, kept going to the bathroom and even tried to sleep on the couch! Finally, they knocked out just after 12 midnight. :)

The Noose Christmas 2011
When I first saw this on tv, I was tickled pink by it lol. For those who are not Singaporean, The Noose is a Singaporean comedy series. It is a parody of local news programmes with fictional news reports and a presentation mimicking that of the real news.

Happy Christmas!
I received a number of smses today from friends, even from as far as Australia, wishing my family and I a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks, my friends! :)
Here's wishing all of you a Happy Christmas and a Wonderful 2010! :)
Cheers,
Hwei Ming
PS Went out for lunch, no, not Christmas lunch, just a simple lunch at a Japanese restaurant before rushing home again to work on my dissertation revision. Under tremendous stress to finish my revision before the end of the year which is like 6 days away...

Belated Christmas Party
The girls' pre-school had its Belated Christmas Party today. It was postponed from last Tuesday due to some unforeseen circumstances. The girls were thrilled to be in school in their party dresses. The Christmas Party was from 10am - 11:30am.
I attended the party because the girls were performing. I wanted to give them support. I was seated right in front for better photo opportunities lol. The girls were extremely happy to see me. I took several photos when they performed their songs. After the performances from the different classes, the graduating K2 class was asked to end the party by hitting the pinata. Marieann and her classmate together broke the pinata. :) Yes, that's my girl lol. The parents were invited to have some refreshment after the party. Some parents took their children home after the party. I let the girls remained in school so that they could play with their classmates a little longer, especially for Marieann as it would be her second last day in pre-school.

Merry Christmas, Peaceful Christmas
Merry Christmas to Everyone! :)
It is a peaceful Christmas for us. After a sumptuous (and heavy) Christmas Eve dinner, we decided to stay home to watch a boy and some snakes. Lol.
A boy = Hellboy 2.
Snakes = Anaconda 3: The Offspring.
We rented some DVDs to pass the time lol. Hellboy 2 is good, it's the second time I have seen it and I still laughed at the funny moments. I like Hellboy too. :) As for Anaconda 3, can skip it, folks. Although I enjoyed watching Anaconda 1 and 2, No. 3 was a total waste of time. :( I could have watched Iron Man instead. Yup, we rented the Iron Man DVD too. Sigh.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. :)
