This is my favourite kind of souvenir! A friend/ colleague came back from a work trip in the Philippines and gave me this! Not the most healthy but MOST YUMMY!

Seeing the souvenirs and snacks that my friends bring back from their travels for me NEVER fails to bring a huge smile to my face. Thank you, Liyana for the goodies from Japan! They are so cute and yummy. I think I can't bring enough money to spend in Japan next month haha.

Friendship and Snack

I was surprised to find this placed on my office door knob when I returned from my meetings. It is such a pleasant and welcomed surprise! Thanks for your friendship, Shuyi. Both your friendship and snack are greatly appreciated! 

Travelling Snacks

Some colleagues went away and all happened to bring back snacks as souvenirs for me! :)

Meetings

I had back-to-back meetings today since 9:30am in the morning until 6:30pm with only 30 minutes break in between. I have never been so exhausted and so hungry. I didn't have my lunch until after all my meetings which should count as my dinner. 
I will have to stock up on my eat-on-the-go food in my office such as cereal drink, instant noodles, instant soup, biscuits, ... 

Seaweed Snack

Recently, my family is into eating seaweed snack. So far, they found this particular brand really nice, not too salty and not too oily. When I go to Seoul this June, I will buy some back lol. :)

CNY Snack

Our favourite snack during CNY is the CNY nian gao. My mother will make different variations of the nian gao snack by coating it with egg batter and fry - a slice of nian gao sandwiched between a slice of sweet potato and a slice of yam, or nian gao with sweet potato, or just nian gao on its own.
I prefer the nian gao on its own because it is sweet. :)

Childhood Memories: Sweets & Toys

Isetan is having Children's Day Celebration from 27 September till 9 October 2014. 
It brings forth many happy memories of my childhood with its large display of sweets and toys of yesteryears! :)

I think our childhood of yesteryears are so much more hands-on, interactive and fun as compared to children of today lol. :) 

Potato Chips

I enjoy my occasional bag of chips. Ok, my frequent bag of chips lol. Classic flavours I enjoy are Sour Cream & Onion and BBQ. I also like hunting for the more unusual flavours such as Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream, Lime & Black Pepper, Honey Soy Chicken, Maple Bacon, Sweet Onion, etc. I cannot stop when I am talking about chips haha.

What Flavor Kit Kat Are You?

Ang Ku Kueh 红龟糕

I have a weakness for ang ku kueh since young. Ang ku kueh (红龟糕)is small oval shaped Chinese pastry with soft sticky skin and fillings in the centre, usually grated peanuts or bean fillings. Ang ku kueh looks like a tortoise shell and it rests on a square piece of banana leaf.  Ang ku kueh is literally translated as “red tortoise cake” (红=red, 龟=tortoise,糕=cake or pastry). Now-a-days, ang ku kueh is no longer just red in colour, it now comes in a multitude of colours and with different kinds of fillings other than bean and grated peanuts! But whatever colour it is, I still only love "ang" ku kueh with grated peanuts fillings. :)
