Retreat, Celebration and Farewell

It's timely for a mini-celebration with my RAs as we accomplished milestones within two of my projects - completion of data collection and completion of preliminary data analysis.
I booked the four of us for a soap-making workshop at Soap Ministry. It is nice to be away from the office for a while and it is great for team-building and bonding as well, not that we need it much lol.
All excited to start our soap making!
Hard at work trying to blend two essential oils
Going nuts blending scents
Cheryl pouring her soap mixture into the molds
A wefie while waiting for the soaps to harden
Our own customised soaps
We had lots of fun at the soap-making workshop. It was "difficult" too as we had to make decisions on what herb, what essential oil and what molds to use. We asked plenty of questions and we learnt lots too about the different herbs and essential oils and their benefits.
Besides it being a celebration of hard work, it is also a celebration of friendship and farewell lunch for Cheryl. We had it at our favourite Swensens.
Our favourite Earthquake sundae!
Thank you, Cheryl for being part of our team. It has been a blast and we welcome you back anytime! We wish you all the best. Keep in touch! :)

Farewell/Thank You Gift

I received a thank you gift from my RA and friend, Cheryl who is leaving my project. There was no need for her to do so but it is a wonderfully practical gift! In my favourite colour too, green! It is a office table desk organiser with mouse pad. I put it to use immediately. :) Thank you, Cheryl!

Japan Trip 2016: Day 13 14 Dec 2016 Wed - Narita International Airport & Home

This is our last day in Tokyo, Japan. We have really enjoyed ourselves and it seems too soon that the holiday has come to an end. :( There are places that we have yet to visit in Tokyo and there will definitely be other visits! :)
We checked out just before 11am and walked to Takashimaya, Shinjuku, the first place we visited when we arrived in Tokyo 12 days ago. It is a fitting closure for us. We went round the food hall of Takashimaya and bought our lunch.
The underground walkway to the hotel
We took the airport transfer to Narita Airport and arrived just before 3pm with plenty of time to spare for our flight JL711 which departs at 6pm. We bought more munch munch at the duty free shopping. We shared a ramen before boarding our flight.
I am still amazed with Japan Airlines' punctuality. We departed on time. We both watched "Your Name (Kimi no Na wa)" and were thrilled to recognise some of the places in the movie. :) Snacks and dinner were served and we absolutely loved our dinner. It was delicious and Juliane's child meal (the last time she can order such meals) is simply adorable!
Farewell, Tokyo
Rice crackers served before dinner
Juliane's ADORABLE child meal, delicious too!
My seafood meal, prepared differently from the other seafood meal I had
More snacks
We arrived back safely in Singapore at 1am, 15 Dec 2016 Thursday.
Once again, we really enjoyed our trip to Japan and we are already planning for our next trip! :)
Home!

Farewell

My fellow counsellor and colleague, Shulian whom I have been working with for the past 6 years in my counselling school has decided to further her studies. As such, she will be leaving the school at the end of the year.
It is really sad to see a fellow counsellor leave but at the same time, I am happy for Shulian that she is continuing with her learning.
All the best in your studies, Shulian. May our paths cross again.

Farewell, June.

A friend, June is leaving for her further studies soon. A group of us, old CRPPers got together to give her a fond farewell. At the same time, we also celebrated the birth of another ex-colleague, Yasmin's baby girl. It is a celebration of more than one thing - celebration of our friendship since 2004, celebration of a friend furthering her studies, celebration of a new birth.
Take care, June. All the best for your studies in Scotland! Come back with a Prince! Oh yes, remember to help me check what is under the kilts! Lol. :P

Final Farewell, Shashlik Restaurant

I went back to Shashlik Restaurant again to bid it a final farewell as well as to celebrate its good food and its great desserts.
Chicken a la Kiev "Imperial"
Banana Flambee
I don't think I can come back for dinner for my Baked Alaska but I totally enjoyed my Banana Flambee.
Thank you, Shashlik for all the sweet memories.
