Penang Trip 2018: Day 6/ Home

It is our last morning at Noordin Mews. We had a leisurely breakfast before leaving for the airport around 10am. We have had a great stay (again!) at Noordin Mews and we will definitely be back.
We had the same breakfast items as our first breakfast. A full circle lol
Bye bye, Room M
This is the first overseas trip with Marieann without Juliane. We are still figuring out our differences/ similarities in travelling. I have had a wonderful trip with Marieann. I hope there will be more trips to come with Marieann. :)

Best Bed

It is always good to sleep in your own bed again after a trip. Don't get me wrong, I love travelling and have no problem sleeping in strange beds. But somehow my own bed seems to be the best haha.

Tokyo Conference Trip 2018: Day 7/ Home

Going home today.
After checking out at 11am, went to Takashimaya to get a quick bite before boarding the limo bus at 1250pm.
Arrived early at Narita but that gave me time to browse the shops at Narita. There are LOTS of shops! Should have kept some money for shopping lol.
Plane departed slightly later but I should be home just after midnight on 26 August.

Japan Trip 2016: Day 13 14 Dec 2016 Wed - Narita International Airport & Home

This is our last day in Tokyo, Japan. We have really enjoyed ourselves and it seems too soon that the holiday has come to an end. :( There are places that we have yet to visit in Tokyo and there will definitely be other visits! :)
We checked out just before 11am and walked to Takashimaya, Shinjuku, the first place we visited when we arrived in Tokyo 12 days ago. It is a fitting closure for us. We went round the food hall of Takashimaya and bought our lunch.

We took the airport transfer to Narita Airport and arrived just before 3pm with plenty of time to spare for our flight JL711 which departs at 6pm. We bought more munch munch at the duty free shopping. We shared a ramen before boarding our flight.
I am still amazed with Japan Airlines' punctuality. We departed on time. We both watched "Your Name (Kimi no Na wa)" and were thrilled to recognise some of the places in the movie. :) Snacks and dinner were served and we absolutely loved our dinner. It was delicious and Juliane's child meal (the last time she can order such meals) is simply adorable!

Juliane's ADORABLE child meal, delicious too!

We arrived back safely in Singapore at 1am, 15 Dec 2016 Thursday.
Once again, we really enjoyed our trip to Japan and we are already planning for our next trip! :)

On My Way Home

It was a packed train (like when it isn't at peak hour). I managed to get a spot right next to the door. I was greeted by the sight of a brilliant sunset. It accompanied me for most part of my journey home.

Tourist at Home

My mother hardly visits attractions in Singapore, except for the Botanic Gardens for her daily walks. However when her friend is in Singapore, she would become a "tourist" and accompany her friend. It is good that she gets out and enjoy herself. Today, they went to S.E.A. Aquarium at Sentosa.

Hong Kong Trip 2015 Home Sweet Home

We finally arrived in Singapore at 12:25am, Thursday 10 December. A delay of 30 minutes.
By the time we arrived home, it was close to 2am. It is really good to be home.
I couldn't sleep immediately as I had to sort out the clothes for normal wash and for dry cleaning as well as sort the gifts for family and friends, and for ourselves. :)
It has been an interesting and unique trip for Juliane and I, exploring the cultural and historical aspects of Hong Kong. :) Sitting in the rain on the upper deck of the topless bus has been a most unique experience haha. For this trip, we bought mostly souvenirs such as stationery, postcards, magnets (and from unusual place like HKU lol) and my Kipling bags. We didn't buy a piece of clothing! We are not the usual shoppers haha. We arrived in HK with 20 kg and left with 27 kg with the additional 7 kg consisting mostly food items! We didn't even utilised our 60kg available! Maybe going to HK in summer, may be different? Who knows? :P

Hong Kong Trip 2015 Day 6

It is our last day in Hong Kong. We woke up to heavy rain, akin to the kind of heavy downpour we have in Singapore. :( Since it was raining heavily, I took my time to pack up the last bits, e.g. the toiletries and our pajamas, hoping the rain might let up soon. However by 11am, it was still raining.
We had no choice but to venture out for our lunch. There is a cafe which Juliane is really interested in. We walked to Moomin Cafe at Ocean Terminal. :)

There are Moomin plush toys seated at most tables at the cafe! :) It's really adorable, almost as if we were having lunch with a Moomin character. The food is pretty good too.

After lunch, we shopped at the Moomin shop next to the cafe. Both of us bought Moomin keepsake, post-it notes for me and a pencil case for Juliane. :)

It was still raining heavily when we headed back to the hotel as check-out was at 2pm. After I settled the check-out and stored our luggage with the hotel, we went out in the rain again to buy food snacks which needed to be hand-carried, such as Lao Po Bing (老婆餅), etc. Since it was raining and we couldn't walk around much, we decided to return to the hotel to wait for our 4:30pm airport transfer.

More snacks for the road haha
Our transfer came on time and by 6pm, we have arrived at the airport and cleared immigration. We had dinner at Cafe de Carol lol. I think it is becoming our favourite fast food restaurant in Hong Kong. :P
We were waiting at Gate 16 when the announcement was made that SQ 871 was delayed and would only depart at 8:05pm. However, by 8:30pm we were still in the plane waiting for take off. Sigh.
Dinner was served to us close to 10pm, earlier than the other passengers because of our special meal orders lol. Juliane's dinner looked so much tastier than my diabetic meal.
