Japan Trip 2016: Day 9 Part 4 10 Dec 2016 Sat - Kiyomizu-dera Temple (清水寺), Kyoto

We arrived at the final sightseeing stop of our cultural day, Kiyomizu-dera Temple (清水寺), yet another World Heritage site since 1994. Unfortunately, it was very crowded, including the shopping streets leading up to the temple and the temple itself. There were a lot of tour groups as well and it marred our experience a little while at this temple. :( I couldn't equate clear water with Kiyomizu-dera Temple but lots of red!

We decided to call it a day when the crowd at the temple was just too much to handle so we skipped the Otowa Waterfall and the Koyasu Pagoda and headed back to the K'Loop bus-stop. While waiting for our bus, we tried a chestnut mochi from a local confectionery just next to the bus-stop. The mochi was really nice and the whole candied chestnut was a surprise as I thought it would be chestnut paste.
