Japan Trip 2016: Day 2 Part 1 3 Dec 2016 Sat - Senso-ji Temple, Asakusa

Taking it slow and easy, we only set off for our visit of Senso-ji Temple at Asakusa after 10:30am and after watching my Ultraman haha. Oh goodness, I haven't seen this since I was a kid! :D
I managed to navigate the JR line and the Tokyo metro subway from Shinjuku to Asakusa with a change of train without getting lost! A big achievement!!

On the second train
We first past the Kaminarimon (Kaminari Gate), which led us to the Asakusa Nakamise Shopping Street. It was a really busy and crowded shopping street selling traditional souvenirs and local snacks. We took note of shops that we were interested in and adjourned to visit the Senso-ji Temple at the end of the shopping street.

Juliane tried her hand at omikuji (fortune-telling paper strips) where she had to shake a container until a bamboo stick with a number fell out. She received a fortune of future blessing and telling her she has to work to achieve her dreams. We bought some charms from the temple as souvenirs.
We bought snack and souvenirs from the shops after the visit of Senso-ji Temple. As we were too lazy to hunt around for a restaurant, we stopped at the first restaurant we saw which was an Italian restaurant for lunch before going to our next destination, Tokyo Skytree.
