Japan Trip 2016: Day 9 Part 3 10 Dec 2016 Sat - Ginkakuji Temple (Silver Pavilion, 銀閣寺), Kyoto

Onward to our third stop, Ginkakuji Temple or Silver Pavilion (銀閣寺), a World Heritage site. We saw Philosopher's Path but didn't walk the length of it. Maybe next time. There is a small lane which leads straight to Ginkakuji Temple. There are shops on the small lane which are quaint and interesting as well as restaurants.

Ginkakuji Temple looks plain in comparison to Kinkakuji Temple. Although it is also called Silver Pavilion, it actually looks more white than silver. There is also a dry sand garden called Sea of Silver Sand.

After our visit, we ate cream puffs and shopped at one of the interesting craft shops. It was close to 1:30pm. We decided to go to the next stop of our cultural day as the next pick up time was 1:40pm or we would have to wait till 2:10pm. We could also have our lunch at the next stop since we had some cream puffs.
6 mini cream puffs: 2x vanilla, 2x green tea, 2x cream cheese
and a brown rice puff cookie
