Yakitori Lunch and More Shopping

The girls' father didn't manage to get his pants from Marks & Spencer, Wheelock Place yesterday. Today, he decided to try his luck at M & S, Centrepoint.

However, as we left home pretty late today - close to 12pm, we thought we might as well have lunch first before shopping. There are a couple of new restaurants at Centrepoint, especially with its new extension.

We tried Sumi Yakitori as we haven't had Japanese food for a while, I think, lol.
The girls had their Kids Set ($8.90) which included: 3 yakitori sticks - chicken meatball, chicken sausage, chicken wings, salad, chef's appetizer (braised eggplant), miso soup, rice, yakult, fruit and ice cream. The kids set was a lot for the kids. Of course, the girls couldn't finish their sets. We, the parents had to step in, you know, waste not, lol. Hmm, I think the kids set is actually enough for an adult, lol.

The girls’ father ordered Tonkotsu Ramen ($8). The thick white broth was made from crushed pork bone boiled for several hours. The broth was really tasty, rich with flavour and best of all, it was not salty. The char shou was nice too - tender and full of flavour.

I had the Yakitori 5 Sticks (premium) Set ($16.90) which included 2 meat (chicken with leek, pork belly), 1 seafood (tiger prawn), 2 vegetables (mushroom, corn), chef’s appetizer (braised eggplant), miso soup, rice and dessert of the day (red bean soup with muachi). The yakitori sticks were not too bad, but at times, a little salty.

We ordered extra yakitori sticks to share: bacon with enoki mushrooms ($3.50), pork belly ($2.50) and chicken meatballs ($2.30) as well as a plate of Gyoza ($5). I must say the chicken meatballs were really tender and nice, no wonder it is Sumi’s specialty dish, lol.

After lunch, the girls' father went to M & S to look for his pants. Today, it's their father's turn to do shopping. We girls did ours yesterday so we were contented with just window shopping, lol. Actually, I did end up with a pair of hand-made earrings, lol.
