The Hobbit II

I posted about The Hobbit and its trailer way back on 23 December 2011. Since then, there has been a change. Now, instead of two parts, The Hobbit will now be a trilogy - An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and There and Back Again (2014)! :) It is good that the movie will now last longer but the waiting would be painful too lol. What's also exciting is that a second trailer for The Hobbit has been released!! It coincides with Tolkien Week - the 75th anniversary of the release of JRR Tolkein's The Hobbit. :)

I can't wait for The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey (part 1) to be released in December 2012!

H2O: Just Add Water

Marieann and Juliane are currently watching H2O: Just Add Water, an 2006-2010 Australian television programme for children, pre-teens and teenagers on tv (can't remember which channel it is showing on). The story revolves round three teenage girls who accidentally gained mermaids' powers and their new lives. I happened to catch it one evening and I didn't mind watching it! Lol. The theme song "No Ordinary Girl" is quite catchy as well. :) There were only three seasons of H2O: Just Add Water but the production of a spin-off has started in 2012. It is now showing Season 2. I recognised the landmarks in the show because it was filmed in Gold Coast, Queensland as well as two familiar faces from the show - Claire Holt (Rebekah in The Vampire Diaries) and Craig Horner (Richard Cypher in Legend of the Seeker). Goodness, they look so young then lol.

Breast Cancer Month

I saw this video on a friend's Facebook about 3 weeks ago and thought it is really funny and well-made. Since it is still October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I though I should share the video. With this video, women would definitely rethink breast cancer and carry out more regular self-checks on their breasts lol. :P

To all women, be breast aware for earlier detection.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Due to my colleague's connections, we managed to get 4 free tickets to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D! Thanks, YZ! :) My mother, my girls and I watched the morning "HP7 part 2 show "at Bugis Junction. I just watched HP7 part 1 on the flight to Sydney so I was able to continue the story with HP7 part 2.

Although I much prefer the HP books because of the rich details, the HP movies are great too for their visual effects. I wish there were more fighting scenes though at Hogwarts between the good forces (students, teachers, former member of the Order of the Phonics) and the evil forces of Voldemort. The scene that I was most happy with was the scene where HP looked into Snape's memories. This scene followed the book quite closely. I cried when I read it in HP7. I cried again when I watched it in HP7 part 2. I shall not say too much because it is a lot more enjoyable if you watch the movie yourselves.

Here is the trailer for HP7 part 1 & 2 (uploaded by MovieManiacsDE)

Below are the trailers for HP7 part 2 (uploaded by WarnerBrosPictures)

My favourite trailer for HP7 part 2 :)

A tribute to Snape

When the last HP7 book was out in 2007, I was not willing to let HP go. Finally, 4 years later in 2011, I am now able to say good bye to HP with this last movie. Time has lessened the impact of good bye and allowed me to come to terms gradually with the end of the HP series. I can now say with a smile, "It has been great knowing you, HP! Thank you!".
