Nature's Noise

Staying right next to Singapore Botanic Gardens has its advantages as well as its disadvantages. I am definitely close to nature, including all the flora and fauna. But I am also close to the "noise pollution". Every day, there is one or a whole family of red junglefowl (taking turns?!) which never fail to crow at all sort of odd hours, including late at night, early morning and throughout the day. 
It can get nerve-wrecking at times. :S

Noisy Visitor

There was a noisy visitor to our home this morning. It was so noisy and loud that it felt as if I was in the gardens instead of being at home! I managed to locate our visitor. Can you guess what it is? 

It is a cicada. I pointed it out to my girls and managed to take a photo of it before it felt that there was too much attention on it and flew off lol. It is amazing that such a tiny creature can produce so loud a sound! The wonders of Mother Nature. :)

NOISE Singapore 2014

I missed out on bringing my girls to NO13E Singapore 2014 Festival Showcase Exhibition at ION Event Hall B4. With all the "excitement" about Prelims and PSLE, I forgot to note the dates for NO13E Singapore 2014 (27 August - 14 September). Alas, I could only admire the art works by myself and take as many photos as I could to show the girls. Sorry, girls, 2015 ok?

Today, I noticed a clicking noise coming from my office Fujitsu notebook. It has been with me for 6 years now since 2009. I hope the clicking noise is not a symptom of something serious to come. Spooked by the clicking noise, I started backing up all my data. A colleague thought it may be the fan making the clicking noise as it came from the left side of the notebook. I really hope so. 
Any "new" replacement notebook from my workplace are recycled notebooks from projects that have been closed and they are likely to be at least 3-5 years old too. :( Not any newer or better. Sigh.

NOISE Singapore 2013

I brought my girls to NO13E Singapore 2013 Festival Showcase Exhibition at ION Event Hall B4. I thought that they would enjoy looking at the art works, especially Marieann since she is into art. We spent 1.5 hours at the exhibition and took plenty of photos. :)

We also received two limited edition Uniqlo x Noise t-shirts after the people-in-charge told us to post any photos taken at Noise Singapore 2013 Showcase Exhibition and include the hashtag #no13e on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. What a bonus lol. :P
