Miss Grouchy

I was Miss Grouchy today.

I was still feeling okay in the morning, especially after my raspberry toast breakfast. Was high on the sweetness of the jam. :P However, my mood started spiralling downhill after 1pm... :( Maybe it was an aftereffect of too much sugar from my breakfast, maybe my blood sugar was low, maybe I am uneasy about tomorrow...

I was snappy at friend who later asked why I was grouchy. Sorry, friend. Didn't mean to but my mood just got the better of me. :(

I hope things will go well tomorrow.

Mood Swings

Have you ever experience, at one time or another, where an incident can ruin your day?

It happened to me this morning. I was happy that I could work from home and I was off to an early start at 8:30am. But at 8:47am, disaster struck. A document which I tried to save became corrupted. I lost a huge chuck of data which became replaced by little tiny squares and funny characters. AHHHHH!!! I was most distraught! The thing is this document was new and I hadn't the time to do a back up. ARGH! I tried using data recovery software but to no avail. The document remained corrupted. SIGH. My bad luck! #$&*!! After that, I was in a very foul and agitated mood. I guess I was vexed with myself too. Sigh.

But as the day wore on, I became less upset. Because this is life. Little things like these would always happen, little hiccups, little obstacles, little inconveniences but life still goes on. No point getting so upset about it. I have better things to do than to remain in a foul mood the whole day about it. My mood changed for the better after I figured that out. Took me a while though, lol.

My mood got even better in the evening when I received an email from Evelyn who is Marieann's Godmother about the venue of her Easter wedding in Melbourne. I became most excited and happy and started searching for accommodation in Melbourne. I am no stranger to Melbourne, have been there many times during my uni days. I will be very glad to re-visit Melbourne again since my last visit was in 1998. :)

Oh yes, I guess there is something to be learnt from today's incident. Life is really too short to remain angry and upset! Lol.

Feeling Down

What do you do when you are feeling down?

1) Eat
2) Sleep
3) Read
4) Work out
5) Play lively music
6) Change of scenery
7) Talk to someone
8) Shower/ groom yourself
9) Break out of your routine
10) Spend time with your pet

What do you do? Predominantly one of the above, combination of the above, or all of the above?

I am feeling down today. I chose to:
Read so that I can escape into a fictional world,
Sleep so that I can dream of a better place,
Eat so that my comfort food can comfort me.

Unfortunately, I couldn't talk to someone about it. It is not something everyone would understand unless they have been through it. Unfortunately, I no longer have a pet unless I can borrow friend's cat, BC for a while. Unfortunately, I couldn't drive or I would drive to the seaside for a walk for the sea calms and soothes me.

Still feeling down but it should be better tomorrow since I have set my heart to go to the seaside. Being by the sea would be the Change of scenery I need.

Holiday Mood

I am still pretty much in a holiday mood, after the hotel stay, after Christmas and especially now that New Year is coming up just round the corner, lol.

Saw this on Blogthings: What Holiday Are You? Tried it out and I am Easter, lol.

You Are Easter

You are an optimistic, hopeful, and genuinely sweet person.
Sensitive and affectionate, you are easily touched.
You love nature, animals, and anything cute or cuddly.
For you, every day is a new chance - no matter what happened yesterday.

What makes you celebrate: Almost anything. You love most holidays and celebrations.

At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The peacemaker. You can prevent any squabbles that might break out.

On a holiday, you're the one most likely to: Remember to include everyone

And here: What Do the Holidays Mean to You?

What The Holidays Mean to You

For you, the holidays are about generosity. You give as much as you possibly can to friends, family, and charity.

You celebrate the holidays in a offbeat style. You believe the holidays are for doing whatever you feel like - and some of your "traditions" are pretty wacky.

During the holidays, you feel happily busy. There's so much do to and not a lot of time to do it. But you enjoy every minute of your holiday chores.

You think the holidays should be nostalgic and sweet. The holidays bring out your inner child.

Your best holiday memories are of childhood foods and traditions. You secretly still wish you believed in Santa Claus.

So far, fairly true, lol. I have always like holidays and celebrations. I will always look for any opportunity to celebrate, as you can see from the farewells, the get-togethers, lol.

Mood Swings - Enbloc

Aiya, this enbloc thing is giving me mood swings.

Reading about enbloc in the newspapers (be it property reports on ST, BT, LHZB; letters in the forum), reading about enbloc experiences from the various (anti) enbloc blogs (activism is truly alive here! Lol), hearing about individual experience, views about enbloc, ...

It heartens me that there are people out there who are doing their best to highlight the social dangers of enbloc and the social problems that are brought along with enbloc. Or at the very least, these people are doing their best to bring to more people's awareness of what enbloc could do or is already doing to unweave the cohesive fabric of our community, society, and nation. Three cheers for them!

At times, it disheartens me that for the same number of anti enblocs out there, there is an equal number of pro enblocs, if not more(??), judging by the number of enblocs that have gone through. What people would do for greed, for short-term tangible gains. Sigh!

Sorry, just being in a pensive mood. Enbloc does that to me. Don't worry, I am a fighter. I won't be going down so easily without a fight. But for now, I just want to vent.

Thank you for listening, my friends. Thank you for your encouragements. Thank you for fighting along side with me, my good friend.

Moods

Happy Mood
Went into work for a meeting. Met some colleagues and they commented about my new hair style and my dressing. Although I have had my new hair style for a while now, I haven't met some of my colleagues as the research centre is big. They said I look younger with the new hair style. Well, I look young with or without the new hair style. Hahaha. Only joking. Most commented that my dressing is different too, wearing short skirts, short dresses and such, looking very different, not so prim and proper. Well, actually, those are my old clothes which I haven't wore for quite a while. Just thought it is a waste not to wear since I can still fit into them. Since no time is a good time, why not just wear them now, right?! Hahaha.

It is always nice to hear compliments from people about how one looks. Thank you, Friends for your compliments. It made me very happy indeed. LOL.

Excited Mood
It is always exciting to go to new places, to see new places, to do new things once in a while. It breaks the monotonous routine of daily life. It shakes you out of a rut. We have to live in the here and now. Not in the past, not in the future. Life is swirling around us, we just have to stop and take notice. I have done so today. Have you?

***
Pensive Mood
All of a sudden, I am given a few choices. Each has its pros and cons. I really don't know what to do. Suddenly, I am wanted. Hmm... am I that good?! Lol. A good friend have mentioned that I shortchange myself. Ok, maybe I do have something in me... :)

Sigh. Headache. I have to be really diplomatic and not offend anyone.

28 Hours Later...

Within 28 hours ...

Not enough sleep. Mood: Foul.

My paper has been re-written. Sent to PI and has been okay-ed. Mood: Foul but getting better.

My slides has been re-done. Sent to PI . PI changed mind and wanted something taken out which PI originally wanted in. Mood: Getting foul again.

I re-did the slides again for the third time! Sent to PI and has been okay-ed. Mood: Foul but getting better again.

Needed to get out of office! Asked a good friend if he was still interested, if he could see "28 Weeks Later" TODAY. Good friend said possible. Mood: Getting better.

Good friend called after his meeting and we left for GV Grand. Mood: Getting better and better.

Watched "28 Weeks Later", ate sweet popcorn. Mood: Never felt better!

Good friend showed me the comics he borrowed from the library! Mood: Pensive.

28 hours later: work done, had company of good friend, saw "28 Weeks Later". Mood: Happy!

"28 Weeks Later" is not too bad but I think I preferred the first one, "28 Days Later". I anticipated what would happen. It has kind of lost the element of surprise/ horror for me. Just wondering, will they come up with "28 Months Later"??

PS. Thanks for your company and friendship, D.

Updated 10 May 2007, 12:20am.
I am feeling really tired but I can't get to sleep. Have you ever felt this way before? Since I can't sleep, I did the next best thing, reading. Half way through "The Cabinet of Curiosities" now... really gripping... Looks like sleep is going to be evasive again tonight...
