End of an Old-School Icon - Shashlik Restaurant

I read in the newspaper that Shashlik Restaurant is closing at the end of the year back in July. I remember frequenting the restaurant during my younger days. It is sad to see it go. 
We finally took time today to have lunch at Shashlik Restaurant before it closes on 30 November 2015. We ordered the appetizers: Escargots in garlic butter and Stuffed Mushrooms with Smetana and desserts: Peach Melba and Cherry Jubilee to share. We ordered our own soup and main course.

The dessert, Cherry Jubilee was the highlight of our lunch. Absolutely delicious! Wanted Baked Alaska but it is only for dinner. :( 
Farewell, Shashlik Restaurant. I will miss you. 

Term 1 Break

It is the start of Term 1 break. Time for some R & R - Review and Revision of Term 1's work for the girls. I am not being harsh as Semestral Assessment 1 (SA1) will begin in late April. This one week break is the perfect time for them to review their work and revise for their SA1.

End of Term

The school holiday is coming soon. 
Marieann has already "started" her school holiday as her last day of school was 31 October 2014. Juliane has one more week of school left, thus ending her school term on 7 November 2014. However, most schools are ending their school term on 14 November 2014 which is the official end date of Term 4. 

27 Days Later

The dry spell in Singapore has finally ended as heavy showers/ rain hit Singapore on 16 March 2014. The rain has certainly provided relief to the parched earth, trees and plants. Hopefully it is not too late for some of the trees and plants.

Flapped into the Sunset

I came home from work and heard from my girls that Flappy Bird has died. 
I was like, "Err, ok. Just play again?"
No, they said the creator of Flappy Bird has pulled the game from App Store. There is no more Flappy Bird! The girls were commenting how lucky they are to have downloaded the game before it was gone.
Oh, ok lol. 
Bye, Flappy Bird.

2013 Ending Soon

I just realised that we are only one day away from 2014. Time really flies by. I think I have achieved most of my 2013's new year's resolution. Time to start to thinking about my new year's resolution for 2014...
