End of an Old-School Icon - Shashlik Restaurant

I read in the newspaper that Shashlik Restaurant is closing at the end of the year back in July. I remember frequenting the restaurant during my younger days. It is sad to see it go. 
We finally took time today to have lunch at Shashlik Restaurant before it closes on 30 November 2015. We ordered the appetizers: Escargots in garlic butter and Stuffed Mushrooms with Smetana and desserts: Peach Melba and Cherry Jubilee to share. We ordered our own soup and main course.

The dessert, Cherry Jubilee was the highlight of our lunch. Absolutely delicious! Wanted Baked Alaska but it is only for dinner. :(
