Just as I was preparing the slides for my AARE 2017 conference presentation, a timely article appeared which could help to strengthen my argument. :)

Personal Growth 2017
One of my personal growth and achievements since becoming a Research Scientist on 1 June 2016: Organising the Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference 2017 31 May - 2 June with a super efficient team of colleagues and friends! It has been a truly enriching process and experience. :)

Education 3-13, Volume 44 Issue 4
My article entitled "I can assess myself: Singaporean primary students' and teachers' perceptions of students' self-assessment ability" is finally published in Education 3-13 International Journal, Volume 44, Issue 4, pages 442 to 457.
It is so surreal to see my article in an actual journal. :P

Top #2 Article
I am really honoured that my article, How to Stop Bullying is the 2nd most popular article in SingTeach despite it being published only in late September 2015. I am really happy as it meant that my article is of use to teachers (and perhaps parents too). However, it also meant that bullying is still an issue in schools. We must remain alert to the signs and all of us - teachers, students, parents, counsellors, school leaders - have to work together in order to stamp out bullying.

Submitting SOON!
I have a manuscript which I have to revise and resubmit by 5 September 2015. I have been pushing hard to finish all the revisions and my friends have been pushing me too. I managed to finish the revision and a good friend also helped to edit and proofread my manuscript.
Thank goodness, I have a few more hours to play with due to the time zone difference in checking through the manuscript and making sure the changes are also reflected accurately in the cover letter to the editor and reviewers before submitting it.
I promise I will never leave it so late again.

Good News IV
My colleague alerted me to this special online issue by Taylor & Francis that collated a collection of articles around School and Teacher Assessment because my research article has been included in this special issue. What a wonderful surprise! :) Feeling proud that Singapore is represented by my article - "I can assess myself: Singaporean students' and teachers' perceptions of students' self-assessment ability". :)
For those of you who are interested in assessment, click here for a whole collection of interesting articles. Enjoy reading. :)

My 1st Sole-Authored Article!
My first sole-authored journal article has been published in an international education journal, Education 3-13! I am over the moon! :) The article, which is based on part of my PhD about students' self-assessment ability, has been published online on 24 November! The acceptance of my manuscript is also the best birthday present thus far as it was accepted for publication on 27 October. :)
For those of you who are interested in assessment, here is the link to the abstract of my article: I can assess myself: Singaporean primary students' and teachers' perceptions of students' self-assessment ability
It is still pretty surreal to see my name on a journal article! Lol :P

Submitted!
I submitted my first article as sole author for review to an international journal. A small milestone in the career of an early academic researcher. :P It is currently under review. Fingers crossed!

Featured!
Dawn, my former student, who is working currently with Singapore Women's Weekly, asked me for a quote about my experience with difficult parents. Always happy to help out when people need help, what more my student. :)
My quote which accompanies an article about Tiger Mum is now out in Singapore Women's Weekly October issue lol. :) My friends and colleagues commented that I am "famous" haha. :P
Here it is, the snapshot of my quote. :)
