Gudetama Mooncakes
This is the first time I bought mooncakes because of its cute factor. :D Bad influence by Juliane who loves Gudetama haha. Not sure of its yummy factor but I can use the box!

Mid Autumn Festival (Belated)
It was Mid Autumn Festival on Monday 12 September. Chinese families would gather together on this day and celebrate a tradition by having mooncakes, chinese tea and pomelo. The children would also carry lit lanterns to walk about the neighbourhood.
This year, we had mooncakes, tea and pomelo but the girls did not carry the lanterns even though we bought the lanterns. We totally forgot about the lanterns, being more absorbed in the eating lol. :P

Belated Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
It was Mid-Autumn Festival yesterday on 3 October. The girls didn't care too much about eating mooncakes and pomelo. They were only interested in lighting up their lanterns and walking round the estate with them. However as it was drizzling, the girls couldn't carry their lanterns around the estate and they were sorely disappointed. :(
After dinner at Xin Wang HK Cafe, Anchorpoint, there was some time left for the girls to carry their lanterns before their bedtime at 9pm and also before it starts to drizzle/ rain again. Eventhough they only walked to the playground and back, they were still thrilled. I guess it was the fun of carrying a lighted lantern lol. :)
PS. I had the Pork Chop with Mee Sua in Papaya Soup ($8.90) at Xin Wang. The soup which had milk added in it was really tasty and so was the mee sua. :)

Children and Mooncakes
It's Children's Day today. Unfortunately, I couldn't take leave as there is plenty of work to do before going out to schools again tomorrow. But I think the girls were able to entertain themselves at home. I managed to get home earlier as I had to bring the test equipments to store in the school first before tomorrow.
After dinner, we went to Takashimaya to get mooncakes. We have yet to buy our mooncakes for this year's Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on 3 October. After walking one round, we decided to get our White Lotus 4 Yolks mooncakes from Dragon Phoenix Restaurant. :) I love the yolk! :P I also bought the girls their laterns which they can light up and carry around the estate on Saturday night.

Mooncake Craving and Mochi too
The 2 mooncakes we bought were finished long ago. I only had two tiny pieces days apart (we normally cut the mooncake into eighths). Actually I only went for the yolk, I removed as much as the lotus paste as possible so that it would not be too sweet for me. Lol.
Today, I had the craving for mooncakes again. We went to Takashimaya Mooncake Fair again. We bought our mooncakes from Dragon Phoenix Restaurant. We have been buying from Dragon Phoenix for a number of years now because they have Lotus Paste with 4 Yolks mooncakes which comes in a box set of 2 ($22). This ensures that we don't overeat. Hahaha.
As hubby hasn't had dinner, we went to Aji Tei Japanese Cuisine & Dessert House. Since I already had dinner at home, he ordered a Cuttlefish Curry Rice Set ($12.80) for himself.
We shared the following:
Cold Tofu with Sesame Sauce ($3.80) - the tofu went well with the sesame sauce and it was really fragrant.
Ton Shabu ($6.40) - the pork is thinly sliced and the special sauce for dipping wasn't too sweet or salty. The sauce actually brought out the taste of the pork beautifully.
Kushi Dango Mitsumame ($6.80) - dessert, lol. Actually I only wanted the mochi (or muah chee) that came with it. It is soft serve ice cream came with jelly, a slice of peach and two sticks of mochi. The mochi was yummy. =)
I am happy. I have got my mooncakes and I have eaten my mochi. Tonight can sleep well. Hahaha. Oh yes, I am also getting better from my illness. :)

Mini Outing
This week is the school holiday week so I have no counselling. I have actually planned to go for movies, shopping (window, lol) and such but all plans were scrapped because of my knee injury. Sigh.
After having rested my knee for most days of this week, I decided to make a little trip to the city to run some errands in the afternoon. I decided to take the bus, rather than the cab. I thought it is time to test out how my knee is recovering. Hmm, going up the bus wasn't much of a problem but coming down the bus presented a little bit of a problem. My knee kind of "locked up" and there was slight pain. Yikes. Anyway, I went to Takashimaya to look for gift ideas because I needed to get a gift for someone. I saw a few potential items but I will need to think about it. :)
Next errand on my list - to look for sugarless mooncakes. Takashimaya Square B2 is having now selling Mooncakes from the various hotels, restaurants, cafes and bakeries. I know, so far, only Marriott Marriott Hotel and Habour City Restaurant sell sugarless mooncakes. However, after walking one big round, I could find neither of them. I guess I may have to go to their respective selling points to get their sugarless mooncakes. I was really disciplined while walking my round. I resisted trying all the samples. Three cheers for me. Lol.
My knee was starting to feel a little stiff as I have been on my feet for almost 1.5 hours. I decided to take a rest and have a nice pot of rosebud tea at Coffee Club while waiting for hubby to come after work. When he arrived, we went to Swiss German Sausage Bar for dinner. I ordered a Pork Bockwurst ($9.20) which came with 2 pork sausages, sauerkraut and rosti. Hubby ordered a Sausage Platter set meal ($13 now) which came with 3 different sausages (Pork Bockwurst, French Chicken Garlic, Nuncher Weisswurst) and pasta. Along with the set, also came a free soft drink and a choice of soup or salad or dessert. Hubby chose the soup which was clam chowder. The sausages were quite tasty. But I was very full after just 1 sausage, quite filling. Or maybe it's because I finished all my rosti and sauerkraut which I like very much. =)
After dinner, we bought some pies and buns back for the girls. We also got a box of (two) 4 Yolk White Lotus Paste mooncakes. The yolk is what I love most about mooncakes. The more yolks, the merrier it is, LOL.
