Home!

My parents are back home after a 3 months' visit to England to see my brother, my sister-in-law and my nephews. Welcome home, Ma and Pa. 

PS. Yes, we are going to have delicious food again! :P

Family Visit

My parents are flying off to England tonight to visit my brother, my sister-in-law and my nephews. The last time my parents were in England was two years ago. My parents are really excited to see their son, their daughter-in-law and their three grandsons again in person. They will be in England for three months.

Dinner Party

My parents gave a dinner party to their friends from Xiamen who are currently in Singapore visiting their daughter and her family. My girls were amazed why my parents, their grandparents have so many friends and are entertaining every so often lol.

Happy Belated 44th Wedding Anniversary!

Yesterday was my parents' wedding anniversary! They have been married for 44 years! Marieann's posting to her first choice was the best anniversary present for them! They have been rather anxious for her too.

Back!

My parents/ the girls' grandparents are back in Singapore from their two months' holiday in Taipei and Xiamen! :)

Spring Cleaning

Completed, well more or less lol. I realised that this is the last weekend to spring clean before the girls start school next week, and especially before my parents/ their grandparents return home next week from Xiamen. :P Well, although there is another four more weeks to Chinese New Year, no time is a good time than now to start the spring cleaning. :) Of course, with my parents coming back SOON is also a great motivation to spring clean now (in order to avoid scolding from them for messing up the place lol). 
We, meaning the girls and I, have managed to tidied up their study materials, their art and craft materials, and their toys and re-organised into the various boxes. We also threw out and recycled a lot of their past year study materials. Just a little touch up here and there in the next few days, our spring cleaning for Chinese New Year will be done. :)

Back Home

My parents are back home after 2 and a half months away. They were in England visiting my brother, my sister-in-law and my three nephews. They reached home at 6pm after their 12-hours flight. The girls were happy to see their grandparents. I am happy to see my parents too. Finally, someone to take over the nagging and scolding of the girls haha. :P
After settling down, we skyped with my sister-in-law and my youngest nephew, Yeun Zhen who missed my parents terribly to inform them that my parents have arrived safely in Singapore. The other two boys, Yeun Yi and Yeun Song were in school, I think.   
 My parents thoroughly enjoyed their stay in England with my brother and his family and they especially enjoyed their time spent with their three grandsons. :)

Don't Know

My girls asked their maternal grandparents when would they be returning to Singapore. I guess the girls must be tired of eating the maid's cooking lol. My parents told their granddaughters, "Don't know" much to the horror of the girls lol. I guess my parents must be having lots of fun in UK with their grandsons, their son and daughter-in-law! :) 

The Other Side of the Globe

It is so strange to see my parents/ the girls' grandparents together with my nephews over in England on Skype lol. We are so used to my parents being over this side of the globe. :P It is really funny to see my youngest nephew cosying up to my parents and trying to play pranks on my parents. He was only a baby when my parents last saw him. But thank goodness, we have been Skyping frequently so my parents are no strangers to my youngest nephew. :)

Home Finally

My parents finally reached home just after 1am. Their flight was delayed for two hours because the plane came from Tianjin to Xiamen and there was a snow storm in Tianjin. 
The girls were happy to see their grandparents, well, me too. Because there were presents for us! Lol. :P 
It is very nice to have my parents back. We already have a wonderful line up of my mother's food that we want to eat. Chicken rice for tomorrow's dinner, char siew for the next, braised pork, and so on lol. :) We feel so blessed. :)

I Can Have Laksa Again

That was what Marieann said when she knew that her grandparents are returning home tonight. Yes, both girls missed their grandmother's cooking and to a lesser extent, their grandfather's cooking lol. Grandfather is more about desserts lol. 
My parents are returning home after being away for about four months (my mother) and for two months (my father). It would be good to have some yummy food again. Lol :)

It is very strange that my parents are still not home yet! They said they would be home around 11pm. My mistake for not taking down the details of their flight... I am getting worried... :S

Still Going Strong

My parents have been married for 42 years on 19 December. They are still going strong :)

Home Again

My parents are back home again after two months away in Taiwan and Xiamen. The girls were both excited and disappointed about their maternal grandparents being home again. 

Excited because their grandparents will be cooking their favourite food again. 

Disappointed because their grandparents will not stand for their misbehaviours.

But I believe their excitement is far greater than their disappointment. Lol.

Mini Spring Clearing/Cleaning

We did a mini spring clearing/ cleaning today. Expected it to take only 2 hours top, it stretched to 5 hours. We, meaning my girls and I, cleared out piles of their stuff (books, toys, junk) in the living room, dining room area and in their grandparents' bedroom.
Now the place looks really neat and clutter-free! :) Just in time, the girls' grandparents (my parents) are coming back from UK tomorrow. Hahaha. Yes, that's our motivation for doing the spring cleaning because we didn't want to get a scolding from my parents for creating a mess in the apartment. :P Yes, even at my age, I dread getting a scolding from my parents lol.

Family Ties

Today is my parents' 40th wedding anniversary.

In the evening, the girls spoke to their grandparents via Skype and also to their cousins, Yeun Song and Yeun Zhen. It is really cold now in London, snowing heavily. The girls lamented that they wanted to see snow. Don't worry, I will ask your Uncle YM to take some photos of the snow and send over lol. :P

Earlier in the day, I visited my grandmother-in-law at the ICU ward at TTSH. She looked really frail. I hope she gets well soon.

My Parents are BACK!

My parents are back from the UK. They arrived back home around 12:30pm. The grandchildren were most happy to see their grandparents. :) I think they miss their grandparents' company as well as the delicious food my mother cooks lol. To be honest, I also miss my mother's cooking haha. :P Before long, there will be lunch/ dinner gatherings at my place again. :)
