Ikea has always been my favourite furniture shop. I just found another reason to love Ikea even more! Ikea has the best "Work In Progress" signs ever! See for yourself. :) (I didn't manage to get everyone as my phone battery was running low).
This one got me running to look inside haha.
Looked into this one too :)
Looked in and scared the workers working in there but they were not muscular :(
Hoping to see Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, ... :) :)
This video is extremely FUNNY. I just laughed my throat sore again watching it. It is a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe. The people's reactions are really funny when they saw what they saw on their screen. Just a warning, the video can be a little crass so if you are sensitive, don't watch it. For the rest, hope this video will make your day as it did mine. :)
Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen (Chatroulette Version) (uploaded by SteveKardynal)
I saw this clip on Youtube and couldn't stop laughing. The clip is made by Mike Sui, an American who is currently in China. He tried to emulate 12 different nationalities/ characters speaking Mandarin - China Chinese, White American, African American, New Yorker, African, Russian, French, Japanese, Hong Kong Chinese, Taiwanese, a gay, and a 12th person who is from National Security.
OMG. Mike Sui is really GOOD! The accents of the different nationalities/ characters were spot-on!! If you could understand Mandarin/ Chinese, it would be even funnier. :D
OMG. This is really funny. :) My mother has said some of those words to me! And I am now saying the same things to my girls!! Best reason ever when the girls are not up to standard: "It must be your father's DNA." Lol. Best reason ever to give when vetoing the girls: "I'm the Mom, the Mom, the Mom, THE MOM!" LOL.
Another hilarious post from mrbrown. It is an interview with the fictitious Minister of Ponding, Midas Jin Jue Lui (whose name in Hokkkien means lots of money). The humour in the video is likely by appreciated much more by Singaporeans because it pertains to recent happenings in Singapore. Click on the Yahoo link for the video.
I saw this on the mrbrown show and it cracked me up big time lol. It is a tongue-in-cheek post of the recent ministerial pay cut as perceived through a fictitious MP and Minister Midas Jin. Really funny. :)
I found a response to the Profits Agency Pte (PAP) situation...
What a coincidence.. we share the same agency Profits Agency Pte too! Our maid's been with us for the longest time, since our child's first birthday. She's also one of the first maids with the agency! She started off as the most promising and respected maid, although other maids do feel, sometimes, she can be a bit authoritarian. Unfortunately, at 80 over years old, she is showing signs of senility (making spurious remarks, for one). We thought she'd graciously retire, have a good life, write her life story, etc. But she steadfastly refused to quit. We wanted a new maid, but the agency said no. Worse, when we approached the other maid agencies that you mentioned (we tried them!) to look for a new one, they went "oh you have her? we can never find anyone who could measure up to her! Sorry!". We had such high hopes when one agency Singapore Domestic Agency (SDA) thought they could supply us with new maids, but they pulled out at the last minute. Lately, our elderly maid has taken a liking to a young army boy. That's a bit worrying for us. If anyone knows of another agency who can help us, do let us know too...
I need your urgent advice about employing a maid. As a busy mother, I need someone reliable to help out at home. My maid is from Profits Agency Pte (PAP) and she has worked for me for a long time. Her mother worked for my parents and did an excellent job, so I had faith in her. For several years her performance has been very good, but recently she has become arrogant and insensitive, and is making lots of mistakes. For example: 1) She flooded my kitchen – she told me that the drain pipe has blocked (she was supposed to clear it once a month but didn’t). Then she assured me that it is very rare and won’t happen again in the near future. Guess what? It flooded again within a year! 2) She didn’t close a window and my terrier dog escaped. I was so worried cos he is dangerous and could bite lots of people. After the incident, she didn’t apologise and just shrugged her shoulders saying “What to do, it has happened.” Fortunately my neighbor found the dog and we locked it up again. 3) Without consulting me, she has been bringing in strangers for my house's maintenance work. She says they charge low wages and keep costs down, but they eat my food, make a lot of noise and rest on my bed. I think they even tried to seduce my husband. It stopped feeling like my home, more like a cheap hotel, and I don’t always want to come back at the end of the day. 4) When she first came to work for me, I instructed her to clean the different parts of the house at least once a week. But for some time she has stopped taking care of the bedrooms of PP and H; they are now dirty and messy. I asked why and she told me that the kids had been disobedient, so she was neglecting their bedrooms as a punishment (she has forgotten that she is paid to clean all the rooms). Even though my maid has worked for me for many years and I value what she has done in the past, I think she is now getting complacent. Her attitude is imperious and dismissive. She ignores my comments and basically treats my feedback as "noise". I wrote to the agency about her behavior; they assured me that they are the best agency around and all their maids are “Committed to Serve” – but I think it is just rhetoric and I don’t see that in her actions. Her salary is much higher than maids in other countries, but the agency say this is to keep her honest and stop her moving to another employer. They say there is a limited supply of maids, and Singapore isn’t big enough for more than one good maid agency, so I should not trust their competitors. I have to decide whether to renew my maid’s 5-year employment contract. When we discussed this she said that she is now part of a team, and if I want her I must also accept her friends doing part-time work for me. One friend is very inexperienced, can't do basic tasks or explain what she intends to do. I suspect that she is actually underage. When interviewed, she only seemed interested in her days-off and visiting Universal Studios. When she couldn't answer my questions she stomped her foot and exclaimed, "I don't know what to say!" But I am still expected to pay her a high salary. Now there happen to be a few other maid agencies - Workhard Pte (WP), New Solutions Pte (NSP), Super Personnel Pte (SPP) and Star Domestica Pte (SDP) - that offered me some helpers who seem sincere, genuine and intelligent. They are keen to work, willing to assist me and have a good attitude. I know that they may take a bit of time to learn how everything works, but frankly I am inclined to give them a chance. People say that the devil you know is better than one you don’t. But I feel that I can’t tahan my current maid anymore. Do you think I should sack my current maid and try out a new one? Appreciate your advice. Footnote: I live in Tanjong Pagar GRC and it seems like I have no choice about my maid agency afterall - I will have to stick with my current maid. For those of you who are fortunate enough to have a choice, celebrate your blessed privilege and exercise your choice wisely. My best wishes to you.
I can ABSOLUTELY understand how she feels because I am in the same boat. :(
I am sure we have all seen the Heineken walk in closet commercial (see below). :D I absolutely love the guys' reactions! :) Love the genius who came up with the idea of the commercial, so simple yet so powerful. :)
Now, what you probably don't know is that there is a 2nd Heinken commercial with a related theme. I shall not say too much and let you see for yourself. I was laughing so much and tearing away when I saw it! Hahahaha :D Go ahead, have a good laugh!
This wedding entrance march is so NOT your typical church wedding entrance march!!! :D The wedding couple and their wedding party has a wonderful sense of humour!! Way to go!! :) By the way, the video has over 8 million views! I wish them every happiness and may they be always so crazy and fun!
I went for lunch pretty late today with two good friends. I was still eating when one of my friends, YZ finished his food. While waiting for KM and I to finish our food, he was eyeing a fly that was resting on the table and made a move as if he was going to catch it. As a joke, I asked him to try to catch it. Inwardly, I was thinking there is no way anyone can catch a fly as it moves too fast. "Tea on me, if you can catch a fly". Lol. KM started snickering. Hmm, should have seen that as a warning that something was not as simple as I thought. But I didn't. Anyway, YZ made a move and it seemed as if he did catch a fly. But it was too fast so I couldn't be sure. Then he started to shake his clenched fist where the fly was supposed to be in. Hahaha. "Yeah right, as if you really caught a fly", thought I. KM was by now laughing away. Maybe he was laughing at YZ who was pretending to have caught a fly. That must be it, lol. YZ opened his fist right in front of me and out flew a FLY! Oh gosh, he really caught a fly. HAHAHA. I burst into laughter. I finally understood why KM was laughing. The joke was on me, lol. I couldn't believe it! Hahaha. So a fly can be caught with bare hands, lol. I kept my word. Tea was on me for everyone, lol.
I watched the Grindhouse: Death Proof a few months ago. It was the second segment. I really enjoyed watching it and laughing over it. I decided to watch Planet Terror, directed by Robert Rodriguez, the first segment when it opens in Singapore. I finally got to watch it this evening. I thought I had better not wait any longer, as it seems to be ending its run.
Planet Terror is about a group of survivors who had to fight and kill zombies while trying to get to safety. Yes, the plot is as simple as that, lol. This is an absolutely hilarious movie – the characters, the dialogue, the cheesy yet funny lines, the violent scenes of blowing zombies to bits were so gross-out and over-the-top that they became funny instead! I shall not say anymore or I would be going into spoiler domain. :P
I absolutely love the movie. I had such good laughs. I am going to watch it again, not just because I enjoyed it tremendously but also because I missed the first 20 minutes of the movie!
This is the first time I have ever missed the start of a movie. Hubby was delayed in picking me up and there was a massive traffic jam on the way. I was pretty vexed about being late for the movie. I had wanted to forget it and just watch the movie another day. But curiosity got the better of me and I went for it anyway.
I am going to watch it again this weekend and laugh to my heart’s content. Dear Friends, whoever is interested in Planet Terror, let me know. I can go with you, lol.
*** When I told hubby last night that I was going to watch Planet Terror, he thought the movie didn’t sound very appealing. I told him it was a film feature paying tribute to B-grade horror movies and it probably wasn’t his kind of movie. But hubby decided to watch it. True enough, it was NOT his kind of movie. At the movie, I was laughing away but he was pretty quiet. He hated the movie while I loved the movie. He kind of blamed me that he watched such an awful movie. Err, hello, I never told him to go and definitely never forced him to go watch it. Get that straight. See, this is why I like to watch movies on my own!
*** After the movie, we had a simple dinner. I had my bangers and mash while he had a hot dog. We got home with plenty of time to spare before Ghost Whisperer started at 10pm. Lol.
Today, my friend and colleague, E happened to tell another colleague of ours, M about my blog. He became interested to read my blog. E claimed that reading my posts would brighten up someone who is sad, because my posts are funny. The two of them started to read my blog then and there. Hahaha. Me funny?? Really. Hahaha. Now I shy! Hahaha.
Decided to do a Blogthing on blogging personality. Here is the results.
Your Blogging Type is Cutting Edge and Amusing
You're a legendary storyteller, and you amuse many with your anecdotes. In fact, you can turn the dullest part of your day into a colorful event. You're also up on what's new and cool - from fashions, to links, to gadgets. You're the perfect combo: down to earth, funny, and a little mischievous.
Hmm... What do you all think? Hahaha. I don't quite agree with the "up on what's new and cool - from fashions, to links, to gadgets". Friends who know me well will know I am NOT IT savvy at all. Hahaha. As for the rest, ... Hahaha.
But no matter what it is, I am glad that I can amuse my friends. There is no greater joy than bringing joy to others.
Switched on or unplugged? You must pondering what am I talking about? Electrical appliances? Network cable? Phone? ... None of the above. Actually, I am talking about me. Huh? Pardon you? No need, you did hear right, or rather read it right. No, no, I am not a cyborg nor am I a Borg (Star Trek fans would know this. Hahaha.) Then where did "switched on" and "unplugged" come about?? It started when a manager came to speak with me in the morning. She told me that an academic would like me to work on his project. According to this academic, I am "switched on", Singlish meaning I'm on top of things or is very hardworking and detail oriented. I laughed, not in front of the manager of course but inwardly. This is the first anyone has described me as "switched on"! Let me indulge for a moment: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I later related this to my friends over lunch. My friends were pretty amused too. A good friend turned to the others and said, "She is not switched on. She is unplugged!". That really drew out the LAUGHTERS from everyone, including me!!! It was really funny. And this is also the first anyone has described me as "unplugged"! Hahaha. So Friends, what do you think? Am I switched on or unplugged? Hahaha. There's one more thing that made me laughed really hard today. The same good friend asked me to listen to this audio clip, Mr. Brown's Bak Chor Mee episode. I have never heard it before because I never bothered to find out about it when it was first in rage. I have never never LAUGHED so HARD in my life. I was at work so I tried my hardest to stifle my laughter but to no avail. Instead, I caused the others in the fishbowl (office) to laugh along with me (even though they had no idea what I was laughing my head off about). Hmm...talk about bringing laughter to others. HAHAHA.
