Coral Vine

Since young, I have always enjoy looking at the coral vine. It has small, adorable pink flowers borne in panicles. It is the only kind of pink that I can tolerate lol.

We were invited for afternoon tea by my neighbour, Vanessa where we enjoyed delicious tea, interacted with her cats and admired the lovely blooms.

Post National Day Holiday

It is the day after National Day, another public holiday as it replaced National Day falling on Sunday. Juliane and I went to Food for Thought, Singapore Botanic Gardens for lunch. Marieann refused to go with us and she's smart because it started raining while I was ordering food. I decided to try local fare and ordered chicken laksa and iced rose bundung ripple latte. OMG, I almost died from the spiciness. No idea what I was thinking when I made my order! :P

After our lunch, the rain had stopped. We walked around the garden to admire nature and to walk off our lunch. :)
A visit to the Singapore Botanic Gardens is a nice end to the National Day Jubilee Weekend. :)

Nature in the Rain

Nature looks different in the rain. Nature seems more alive, colours seem enhanced and brighter, and everything seems more beautiful and romantic. :)

Flowers = Smile

I don't know why but when I see flowers, they make me smile! :)
As I was walking home from Tanglin Mall, I walked past the following beauties along the pavement (where all the construction is on-going now, around Gleneagles Hospital and Botanic Gardens Nassim Gate area). Very few people, in fact, none stopped to admire them.
Thank you for brightening my day, especially during this period of stress.

Water Lilies

It's Good Friday public holiday. I went for breakfast at Botanic Gardens with a former neoghbour. After breakfast, we went for a walk. I have a favourite spot: Plant House which is a historical landmark in Botanic Gardens. The Plant House is no longer a house, its roof has been replaced with beams. It is a charming, quiet spot, often missed by visitors. :)
To my delight, water lilies are blooming everywhere at the Plant House. It is one of my favourite flowers.
