Nasty Fall II

I went back to the TCM clinic. The swelling seems to have gone down a little. No indication of fracture. Phew! Tui Na was done on me today and I swear it is MUCH WORSE than labour pains!! A second round of acupuncture was done but with less needles than yesterday. I guess that is a good sign.

Nasty Fall

I had an accident at work today. I missed two steps on the stairs and sprained my right ankle badly just after noon. Thank goodness for colleagues who quickly sprang into action such as getting me medicated oil, ice, pushing me in a chair doubled up as "wheelchair" to reduce my need to walk.
I went to the TCM clinic after work. The TCM doctor did acupuncture. My first acupuncture and I almost died. I really dislike needles! Complete rest for my foot tomorrow as TCM doctor is worried about possible hairline fracture. If swelling is not down by tomorrow evening, I am going to get an x-ray. :(
7 needles with 2-3 few SUPER LONG ones :'(

Knock+Fall=Bump

I received a call from school that Juliane had an accident. According to her teacher, after the computer lesson, Juliane went under the table to check if she dropped her stationery under the table. Her classmate, not seeing Juliane, pushed in the chair which knocked into Juliane and caused her to fall forward against a protruding metal piece under the table. A huge bump appeared on her forehead in between her eyes. The teacher used an ice-pack to try to reduce the swelling but it was really evident.
I brought her to see the doctor and the doc said she is really lucky because just a little lower, Juliane would have broken her nose bridge. That's too close for comfort! :S Juliane was given an ointment to apply on her bump. I was told that the swelling would take a few days to go down and that I should monitor Juliane to see if she feels giddy, nauseous; if there is sudden lethargy; if she has headaches; ... for the next 24 hour period.
When at home, Juliane said she was tired and took a nap. However, after an hour's nap, I couldn't wake her up and she usually wakes up promptly at the first call. As "difficulty to awaken" is one symptom to look out for, I panicked for a moment! Thank goodness, after a few more tries, she finally woke up but seemed a bit dazed. I asked her a few questions and she was able to answer them correctly. Phew. Maybe she was really just exhausted after her "eventful" day in school.
I hope that Juliane will be less accident-prone. Not too much to ask, right?

A Great Fall

Last night (past midnight), while I was doing some work on my laptop in the living room, I heard a great "BANG". It sounded like it came from my room. Before I could walk to check out what happened, I heard another two "bang", "bang". It was hubby rushing out of another room and knocking into the door frame of that room and then the door frame of my room. He was sleeping when he too heard the BANG and had gotten up but still not fully awake, lol.

We both looked into my room and saw this scene: Juliane had fallen off the bed, and somehow managed to roll under the bed. It was funny - her legs sticking out from under the bed, hahaha. I slowly pulled her out from under the bed. She had actually fallen asleep again under the bed after her fall. Lol. As I carried her onto the bed again, she woke up and started whimpering about having fallen off the bed and knocking her head. Talk about delayed reaction, lol. After rubbing her bruise for a while, she fell asleep again. Kids. Lol.
