MLS038 had its last class on 26 October. This bunch of teachers (HODs, Subject Heads, etc) have been most wonderful, fun and generous. Although I was teaching the class about student-involved assessment, I thoroughly enjoy learning from the teachers through their experiences and their sharing! I wish them all the best in their journey into student-involved assessment.

MLS038 2017
Today, I started the second run of my in-service course, MLS038: Student-Involved Assessment. A total of 27 teachers enrolled in the course. Just with this first session, I could tell that they are a wonderful bunch of teachers!

TRAISI Course II
Today is the 2nd half of my 10 hour course on Self-Assessment: 5Ws ad 1H at Academy of Singapore Teachers from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. Most of the teachers were really good and have been able to implement and/or design a self-assessment strategy for future use with their students. All teachers presented and shared their strategy. Although we ended close to 6pm, all teachers were happy with the sharing. I am really happy that the teachers managed to try self-assessment or have started the process of implementing it. An additional bonus was the positive feedback which I received from the teachers! :)
Another bonus: I had the company of the AST resident cat while waiting for the heavy rain to lighten up after the end of my course.

TRAISI Course
When I was a teacher, I used to attend TRAISI courses. I never expect that one day I would be conducting a TRAISI course myself training teachers! Talk about coming full circles. :P
Today, I conducted the first session (7 hours) of my CPO course on Self-Assessment: 5Ws and 1H at Academy of Singapore Teachers from 9am to 5pm. Although it was a long day, the discussions and sharing among the teachers were really great. I learnt quite a few things too. I hope my teachers managed to bring something back with them to mill over. The next session is on 13 April. I hope the teachers will have enough time to implement one strategy in their classrooms between now to 13 April. Good Luck!

First Time Jitters
I am getting a bit anxious. I will conducting my first 10 hours course tomorrow. Although I have done workshops, they are only 3 hours long. I worry about not being able to keep the participants engaged for 7 hours. Wish me luck!

Prep at Dental
While waiting to see my dentist, I worked on my slides for a 10 hours course. I can recycle some materials from my previous workshops (3 hours) but I need to expand it substantially.

My 1st MLS
Today, I gave the first lecture of my Management and Leadership in Schools programme elective, Student-Involved Assessment. This is the first time that I am teaching a MLS elective. The students are key personnels from schools. They are really funny and we had lots of fun discussing and sharing experiences and views. I learnt plenty from them too! Looking forward to my next 5 sessions with them. :)
