Day 3 Penang 2014: C) Pinang Peranakan Mansion

Here are the photos of our Pinang Peranakan Mansion visit. This is the first time that the girls have seen the Peranakan lifestyle and customs up close and personal. The guide gave us a tour of the ground level rooms in the mansion after which he left us to roam the mansion (including the rooms upstairs) freely.
Photos of ground level rooms and the Straits Chinese Jewellery Museum which showcases priceless collections of Peranakan diamonds, intans and jade set in gold and precious metals.

We are glad for the chance to glimpse into the Peranakan's opulent lifestyle and of their customs and traditions of yesteryears as well as the chance to walk-through the heritage Peranakan courtyard house of eclectic design and architecture which incorporate Chinese carved-wood panels, English floor tiles and Scottish ironworks.
