Seoul Food

The girls' father suggested eating out for dinner tonight. He wanted to have Seoul or Korean cuisine which has been on his mind for a while now. We went to Su Korean Cuisine restaurant, at Far East Plaza.

We ordered the Promotion Set Menu B for 2 persons ($59+++) . It is more than enough for the four of us as the girls usually don't eat a lot. This set menu included:
Korean Side Dishes (Banchan) - there are usually about 6 or 7 dishes. We often requested for the not so spicy ones. I always enjoy eating the side dishes, e.g. the potato, the lotus roots. They are really healthy and tasty.

BBQ Chicken and BBQ Pork Collar (Bulgogi) - we often asked the kitchen to barbeque for us. The pork collar is a must! There is a lot of chew to it and it is simply delicious. (only the BBQ pork shown here, the two BBQ dishes looked similar, lol)

Assorted Rice in Stone Pot (Seafood) (Bibimbap) - it is similar to fried rice, sort of. The rice is put into this stone pot (really hot) together with vegetables (spinach, carrot, bean sprouts, seaweed), seafood (prawns, squid) and a raw egg. Everything is then stirred together. The egg is cooked by the heat from the stone pot. Usually, a sauce would be added into the rice mixture too but it was kind of spicy so we asked the waitress not to add it in.

Authentic Ginseng Chicken Soup (Samgyetang) - it is really scrumptious. Simply heavenly. A whole young chicken is stuffed with glutinous rice, garlic cloves, ginseng, red dates, chestnut, and ginko and then boiled in a broth of Korean ginseng, red dates, garlic and ginger. This soup is supposedly a cure for physical ailments and also a preventer of sickness. =)

The set menu also came with complimentary fruits.

So far, this is the only Korean restaurant that we patronise. We definitely like the food and the service very much.
