BFFs

This Blogthings quiz totally got it correct! My best friend, Min Strauss and I have been best friends for ages, since we were in secondary school (but we knew each other even earlier in primary school)! We have had an exciting adventure together in London when we were 16 years old. I spent my uni holidays at her place in Melbourne and after she got married, I spent my holidays at her place in Sydney (Thanks, Graham for accepting Min's crazy friend lol).
Even though my best friend and I are now living on different continents, we remain as close as ever. There is nothing that we can't talk about and we can always be totally honest with each other without fear of ridicule or judgement. We are always there for each other. We are BFFs! :)

You Are BFFs
You and your best friend go back... way back. And you've stuck with each other through it all.
People may have tried to come between you and your best friend, but it's never going to happen. Your friendship stands the test of time.

Anyone who knows you will often ask where your best friend is if you're flying solo. You two are just that connected.
Forget finishing each other's sentences - you often feel like you share a brain. You're happy to have someone on this planet who totally gets you!

Arrived at McMansion

I checked out of 1608, Meriton Serviced Apartment, Campbell Street at 9.30am. The location is very convenient and the service of Meriton has been very good. If I ever return to Sydney, I would definitely stay here again.:)
I took the 10.09am train from Town Hall to Sutherland where my best friend, Min pick me up.It was really good to see her again! :) We took her grocery home, had a nice sandwich lunch before going to pick up Josh, her younger son from school. I am happy that Josh still remembers me. Min's husband, Graham arrived home just before us. Not long after, her elder son, Ben also returned home from school.
It was really good catching up with everyone. I always feel so welcomed and at home when I am with my best friend, Min and her family. :)
Oh what's McMansion? It is their house lol. It is huge! Five bedrooms (two of which have their own living areas), two study rooms, two living rooms, three bathrooms, two toilets, swimming pool, ... :) My girls love the house when they saw it last year and wanted to stay there despite it being in the process of renovation. Now that major renovation is done, I also want to stay there forever lol. :P

Farewell and Take Care

Min, Ben and Uncle have left for home today. Although it is a major drawback that my best friend is so far away, I am really glad that we have remained best of friends even though she migrated to Australia 20 years ago. Thank goodness for emails and cheap IDD calls lol. Maybe next time we should Skype haha. :) The kids could say Hi to each other. Oh yes, the kids have already made arrangements with each other that they will visit Ben and stay at their place this December! Min and Graham, you better get ready lol.
Till we meet again, farewell and take care, Min and send our warmest regards to all at home (in Australia).

BFF II

My best friend and I managed to meet again! :) As her trip here is really short, it has been packed to the brim with meetings and meals with her relatives. I am really lucky to meet her twice. :) I think it is welcoming for her and her son that they could just relax at my place, other than at their hotel room lol. :P
We met again at Food For Thought (new eatery), Botanic Gardens for lunch before going back to my place. My girls were really happy to see Ben again. Thank goodness, they didn't have much homework so they could play Skylanders with Ben again lol. As for the adults, we chit-chatted while drinking my mother's Chinese tea.

Just after 4pm, we - Min, Ben, Marieann, Juliane and I - left for Ion for a little bit of shopping. We took the bus which was a thrill for the kids lol. Too many of us to squeeze into a cab. :P For this trip, Min has been busy buying things for others, back home in Australia. Today, she finally managed to get some things for herself! :)
After 6pm, we went back to their hotel so that we could say "Hi" to her father. I haven't seen Uncle for over 10 years! We chatted for a little while before leaving as Min and her family has a dinner appointment at 7.30pm.
It was a bonus to meet up with Min again and really nice to catch up with Uncle again. :) I hope it won't be too long before we see each other again.

BFF :)

My best friend, Min is in Singapore finally. We have been friends since primary school and best friend since secondary school. :) We can talk about everything and anything. :) It has been so long since Min was last in Singapore. I do visit her in Australia but it is different when she is on my home turf lol. :)
My girls and I met her and her son at Botanic Gardens at 9.30am. We went back to my place, a stone's throw from Botanic Gardens and spent the morning chit-chatting (with my parents too) while the kids played Skylanders. We were all having a really enjoyable time. :)
Close to 1pm, we went over to Botanic Garden's newly opened eatery, Food For Thought for lunch. (I will write a separate post about the food at Food For Thought) There was more chit-chat during lunch and some time for the kids to run around in the garden before we sent Min and her son back to the hotel at 3pm.

The kids making funny faces

My best friend, Min and I :)

We made arrangement to meet up one more time before they return to Australia next Thursday. :)

HM Packing Service

On this trip, I am really excited that my girls will get to meet my best friend, Min or Aunty Min to them and also they will get to meet her family. :) Min and I made arrangement and we are off to visit them today.

We left the hotel after 10am to take the train to Padstow station where Min's husband, Graham and her older son, Ben picked us up. After which, we picked up Min and her younger son, Josh from their house and we were off to see their new house! :) Min and her family would be moving to their new house soon. They were in the process of renovating their new home as well as packing up for the move when we visited them.

Goodness, the new house is really huge. Although it is still in the process of renovating, I could see how everything is going to come together and it will be the perfect home. When I was being shown the various rooms in the new house, the kids found their own entertainment, playing hide and seek lol. We went back to their old house where we had lunch and we also did some catching-up. :)
After lunch, the kids played basketball as there was a bit of sunshine while the adults worked lol. Graham went back to the new house to do some renovation work. Min and I did some packing of the kitchen. In 4 hours, we packed 8 big boxes of kitchen stuff for the move! :) Min was worried about me helping her to pack as I am supposed to be on holiday. Hey, what are best friends for, we help each other in need. Besides, I am experienced in packing (having once helped another friend to move house too)! HM Packing Service, I am. Lol. :) While we were packing, the kids played Wii, watched DVD and played hide-and-seek. They really enjoyed themselves.

For dinner, we sat down to a delicious meal of spaghetti bolognese prepared by Min. Oh boy, everyone was really hungry after all that work and play lol. :) Thanks for the delicious dinner, Min! :) The kids played a while more while the adults chit-chatted. It was past 10.30pm when Min dropped us back at the hotel amidst the rain.

The girls were talking non-stop about how much fun they have had and that they wanted to go back again the next day lol. Thanks so much, Min, Graham, Ben and Josh for having us over despite being busy yourselves. Next time we are in Sydney, we will be staying with you guys in your huge house haha. :)

My Best Friend

I think everyone should have a best friend. I am very lucky I have a best friend and I get to travel too in order to see her. :) See, my best friend, Min lives in Sydney, Australia with her wonderful husband, Graham and two awesome boys, Ben and Josh. :)

I really needed a break and my best friend so I flew to Sydney today. :) Min picked me up from the airport before picking Josh up from school. While Min was whipping up dinner for us, Ben came home. Soon after, Min left for her office Xmas dinner and it was just the boys and I. I had a really relaxing first night in Sydney, just lazed around and did nothing haha. :)

It is really fantastic to see Min and her family again. It was March 2008 when I last saw everyone. I am really glad that the boys still remember me. :)
