Tokyo Conference Trip 2018: Day 6

Woke up super early trying to catch a glimpse of the sun rise but no such luck. It was cloudy and there was a warning of twin typhoons. :(

Dropped into Harajuku after the conference and happened to see a BlackPink pop-up store. Ventured in to buy stuff for Juliane who is a BlackPink fan. 

Had an early dinner at Coto-Coto before returning to the hotel to pack my luggage as I am going home tomorrow.

Japan Trip 2016: Day 7 Part 1 8 Dec 2016 Thurs - Owl Cafe

I woke early in the morning to the clearest view ever of Mt Fuji from our room window. WOW.

The first stop of our interesting day is the Owl Cafe in Harajuku! It is our first visit ever to an owl cafe. What an experience! :) The feathers are so soft! All thanks to my Primary 4P 1998 student, Andrea for bringing us here! Thanks for meeting up with your old Cher. :) :)

Owl Cafe is a small cafe, just two tables and you have to make a reservation in advance. The staff will lead you into an enclosed area where the owls are kept and she will explain the breed of the owl and its likes and dislikes for each owl before she allows you to roam around looking at the owls and/ or touching them for 35 minutes. The staff is on present at all times in the enclosure to ensure safety of the owls and people. It is definitely an experience to see the owls so close up and to be able to touch them gently. 

Japan Trip 2016: Day 7 Part 2 8 Dec 2016 Thurs - Meiji Jingu, Harajuku & Shibuya

After the owl cafe, upon hearing that we have yet to visit Meiji Jingu, my student kindly brought us here. It was a nice walk into a peaceful place. We were very lucky to witness two weddings at Meiji Jingu. Juliane tried her hand at omikuji again at Meiji Jingu and it came in the form of a Waka poem by late Empress Shoken.

We decided to have lunch at Harajuku before dropping by Shibuya. We were really intrigued to find out that there are pork burgers at MacDonald's in Japan! We tried the BBQ Pork and Teriyaki McBurger. They were really YUMMY! We also had Calbee Plus's fresh potato chips with maple syrup and cream cheese. Sinful haha. 

We dropped by Shibuya to help my friend look for something at Tokyu Hands. I managed to get it and Juliane was happy enough to be back at Shibuya because of EXO haha.
