Seoul Trip 2015 Day 2

We had a late start to our Day 2 of our Seoul Trip 2015. :) Just after 10:30am, we casually strolled to Insadong which is 3 minutes away from our rented apartment. We spent close to 2 hours just strolling and browsing at the shops at Insadong, including the famous Ssamziegil. :)
At the start of Insadong (one end at least)
In one of the Insadong alleys
Many souvenir shops like this in Insadong
art galleries and shops
Selling Korean traditional rice cakes
The only Starbucks in the world with its name written out in another language
Funny guys selling something similar to dragon beard candy
A beautiful gelato rose!
The famous Ssamziegil
Many, many nice and interesting shops at Ssamziegil
This place reminds me of former The Promenade (demolished in early 2000 to make way for Paragon) with its walkway.
Shop selling miniature plants :)
At the roof top of Ssamziegil
Lots of round disks hanging on every available space! Declaration of love!
Declarations of love by couples hanging everywhere. :)
On the way down, Can you spot Juliane? Lol
I decided to bring Juliane to a traditional tea house for some Korean traditional tea and dessert. I recalled visiting one such tea house in Insadong when I was in Korea back in 2008 for a conference. Guess what? I managed to find it again! :) It hasn't changed - still rustic and traditional in decor. We ordered Steamed Rice Cake with Honeyed Red Bean, a traditional Korean dessert only available to the royals during feasts or birthdays, an iced Green Plum tea and a hot Omija tea. :) The Korean dessert was tasty and a much needed break for us before we proceed to our next destination - Ewha Womans University, especially to the streets around Ewha University for some shopping. :)
Found it! A comforting feeling for me when I enter this tea house
We took the subway to Ewha Womans University. It was the same way as going to Hongik University yesterday and Liyana also gave me excellent directions so I didn't get lost haha. We are here mainly to buy clothes for Marieann who gave specific instructions on what she wants and also for ourselves as well as dropping by Ewha Womans University which is the first women's college in Korea founded in 1886 and famous for its unique facade.
Think Koreans love churros
Ewha Womans University
We left earlier around 4+pm as Juliane has developed a headache. By then, we have achieved our primary objectives of buying clothes and visiting Ewha Womans University (from afar). We arrived back home just after 5:30pm. Juliane took her med and went to sleep promptly. We had a simple dinner of sandwiches at 9pm which we bought on our way home. Juliane went back to sleep after dinner and a shower. I think she is still suffering from jetlag.
Shirts for Marieann as she requested
Earrings for Marieann too
Dresses for Juliane (2) and myself (1)
Simple dinner
It is just as well I have nothing planned for tomorrow, Monday 15 June 2015. Maybe I saw this coming? We will be take it easy and play by ear.
