Rapport

Most of my counsellees are new, started with some of them at the beginning of the year and some of them, I have "inherited" recently as the FTSC has left. Rapport building is important in counselling. Before you can go on to counsel the counsellees, they need to trust you. I often like to spend a few sessions on building rapport with my counsellees first before we discuss or work on their issues together.

I think I have managed to build up rapport with most of the counsellees as they were kind of disappointed that I would be away for 2 weeks due to the AERA conference. Sorry. :(
